As a rule, Save the Dates are usually sent 6 to 12 months before the wedding date, this is really important if you have guests who will need to travel long distances to attend your wedding. Invitations are then usually sent out 2 to 3 months before.
Our semi-custom wedding stationery suites have already been designed and all you have to do is give us your information so we can personalise it for you. Choose from our designs under the semi-custom section of this website and get in touch. We can change the ink colour and word your invitation how you would like. Substantial changes to the semi-custom suites may incur a charge. You can then add any extras such as ribbons, wax seals, pocketfuls - there is a lot of choice and you can also see these options with the semi-custom suite section. This process can take 4 - 6 weeks.
Bespoke wedding invitation suites are where we work together to create something completely unique. We will discuss what you are planning for your wedding, any themes and inspiration you may have. Once we have all the information we need we will create a proposal for you to see all the invidicual elements that will create your special stationery. This process can take between 2 to 4 months depending on the number of elements you wish to have and my availability.
For more detail on the processes for both semi-custom and bespoke suites, please see the Pricing & Process section of this website.
As bespoke wedding stationery is designed from scratch, the design fee covers the hours spent designing a 3 piece suite - for example a save the date, invitation and RSVP. This costs £350. If you would like other items designing this will incur further costs per item. The designs will be presented to you in a pdf proposal and will be 'mocked-up' so you can see what your stationery will look like.
Adding your names, date, time and venue are all included in the cost. You may also change the ink colour. All our ink colours are mixed by hand and, as such, there can be slight variations but we will do our best to match the colour you desire where we can. Substantial changes to the stationery can incur an additional cost. These can be discussed when we meet.
Please see our Pricing & Process section for more details but once we have agreed your design, semi-customised stationery will be processed within 4 to 6 weeks and bespoke stationery in 6 to 12 weeks. If you require your stationery quicker, and we can accommodate the request, a rush fee of £200 will be charged.
Please get in touch! Either email us on info@besotteddesign.co.uk or go to our Contact Form. We're looking forward to hearing from you.
Semi-customised stationery – on acceptance of the quotation, a non-refundable 50% deposit is required to secure your design date and start the design process. You will receive a proof of your stationery and, once approved, the remaining 50% will be required for the stationery production and printing to begin.
Bespoke stationery – after a consultation, a non-refundable design fee of £350 is required for the design process to begin. You will receive a design proposal including a proof of your stationery and a quotation. Once the proof has been approved, the remaining balance is required for the stationery production and printing to begin.
Remember, you only need one save the date and invitation per household, not per guest. It's always a good idea to order 10% more for any last minute guests or for keepsakes.
As the letterpress printing process is labour intensive in its setting up, there is a minimum order of 30 pieces of each item.
Yes we do. We can send you a sample pack which costs £10. If you the decide to book your wedding stationery with us, the cost of the sample pack will be deducted from your bill.
Whilst we love to see your inspiration for your wedding stationery, we do not copy other designer's work. We'd rather work with you to create your own unique stationery.
Yes we do. The process is still the same just at different time zones. All stationery will be sent by courier on an insured service. Timings and cost will be worked out when placing the order.
Quantities can be changed before the stationery materials have been ordered, otherwise a surcharge will be incurred. Please remember, for letterpress stationery, there is a minimum order of 30 pieces per item.
Your 50% deposit or bespoke design fee is a non-refundable payment which covers all design work. Should you decide to cancel an order once design work has been undertaken, refunds of this deposit are at the discretion of Besotted Design. Orders that have already been printed are non-refundable.
Calligraphy can add a personal touch to your wedding stationery. For an extra cost, we offer a calligraphy guest envelope addressing service and calligraphy place names for your reception. If there is something else you would like to add a calligraphy element to, just ask.
Yes, as above, for an extra fee we offer guest addressing whether calligraphy or printed. We will give you a spreadsheet to input all names and addresses to enable this.
Letterpress is the oldest and original form of printing. Letterpress printing involves pressing an inked surface onto paper, which can be adjusted to leave an impression. Our press is over 130 years old and instead of using metal type, as printers used originally, we now use polymer plates of our designs; the rollers run the ink over the plate and the cardstock is then pushed against it making a beautiful impression.
A deboss is where the plate pushes into the cardstock making an impression. Embossing is where the surface is raised out of the cardstock. Both are beautifully tactile. Our semi-custom suite Cosmo uses both techniques.
